Welcome to the Official Website Of The Best Damn Movie Comp Period

TheMovieVault.net, in partnership with NationVoice Communications and BFG Technologies is proud to announce 'The Best Damn Movie Comp Period'. Best Damn is more than just a single event, the bigger picture will allow for a series of four rounds of competition, each round will have different criteria, and may be available to different types of games. Each round will get progressively better, raising the bar and the prize pot.

For the first round of Best Damn the total prize purse is $5,000 in cash and prizes. This round will be open to only three games, and we strongly encourage film makers to participate. The winners from each round will be invited to participate in a winner takes all grand final, to be held sometime next year. Keep in mind that this is the first round, so we will be trying out some new things in order to determine the best possible outcome. Make sure you fully read and understand the official rules, if you are planning on participating.

Round One features several interesting challenges, including but not limited to the production of a unique competition introduction. In order to engage interest from producers while creating the introduction, TheMovieVault.net has decided to award a $500.00 bonus prize to the producer whos film yields the best overall competition introduction. This additional bonus is open to all producers, regardless of their placement in the final competition. 29 Videos Entered, Panel Judging has Started.
Friday, August 22nd 2008
Registration is closed, the deadline has been met, and in total 29 participants made the deadline and the panel of 12 judges have begun sifting through the entries selecting (or at least trying to) the top 10 finalists for this event. We would like to thank all participants ahead of time, and you honestly are making this very very hard. So many good movies produced, and so little time to choose...
Deadline Extended To August 20th, 2008
Wednesday, August 13th 2008
Due to an overwhelming "cry for help" from producers struggling to meet the August 14th deadline we sent out an email to all participating producers asking them to cast their vote whether we should KEEP or EXTEND the deadline. Of the registrants about 85% replied and a unanimous vote was made which will extend the deadline 6 days. An email has been sent out to all producers regarding this extension. We would personally like to thank all the producers who did make it a priority to get their films uploaded before the original deadline. This extension does not affect the August 23rd date announcing finalists. Voting will begin August 23rd, 2008.
